Make blood relations! Donate blood - PT education

Make blood relations! Donate blood

4th successful year of PT universe's Saathi Haath Badhana blood donation drive

Have you or your near & dear ever been in need of blood? If your answer is ‘yes’, then surely you have realised that donating blood has been the greatest act of help. Blood is truly precious.

"Today we are proud to witness that youth have taken a solid step in this noble deed of donating blood with complete enthusiasm”, said Mr. Sandeep Manudhane, Founder Chairman of PT universe, on the 14th of August, 2009, in the inaugural ceremony of All India Blood Donation Campaign - Saathi Hath Badhana, in the premises of Yashwant Plaza on 14th August 2009.

This mega blood donation mega campaign was conducted at more than 80 PT locations across the country, including PROTON business school premises at Indore & Ahmedabad, and the SBM campuses at Indore, Ahmedabad and Nashik.

"It is worth noting that this is the 4th consecutive year that PT universe has successfully accomplished this blood donation drive. Many start, few continue. I wish PT universe the best for all coming years", said Shri Rakesh Shrivastava, Collector of Indore, while lighting the ceremonial lamp. The Senior Superindent of Police Indore Mr. Vipin Maheshwari echoed the sentiment. Expressing his views on the initiative taken by PT universe, Mr. Rakesh said that when the hospitals of the country are in dire need of blood, only limited units are available. Consequently a number of people in need have to face dire prospects. Such programs will encourage the youth and give confidence to donate blood. He said that such an initiative taken by PT universe is an appreciable effort. Mr. Maheshwari also agreed to the fact that generating awareness towards blood donation among masses is the need of the hour.

The blood bank's representatives were present in full force, and made people aware about the common cautions they need to observe before and after donating blood. They mentioned that it’s a common myth that donating blood may cause some sort of weakness in the donor. But actually a healthy body can recycle blood within 24 hours.

Across PT locations in India, students & staff participated with tremendous enthusiasm. Officials attending the program at various locations told that through this program they have been collecting data of donors which they make available throughout the year to those who may need it. The donors were also presented with an appreciation letter and a certificate.

Overall, more than 6000 units of blood was collected. The PT universe thanks each donor for their selfless gesture.
