Celebrating the PFD - across PT education

Celebrating the PFD - Press Freedom Day across PT education

Freedom of Press is freedom of information. It's as fundamental as that. The lack of the right information leads to ignorance and does not have the power to take us forward on the evolutionary plane. To play its own part, PT education felicitated excellence in journalism and communication on Press Freedom Day on the 2nd of May 2009. Nation building and social causes need fearless communication efforts and we need to salute the efforts and the people who initiate them! We need to salute their spirited efforts to promote peace, harmony, and human rights. PT education, the largest all-India value-added professional training institute, observed “Press Freedom Day” at all its 80 centers across the country. On this occasion various activities were organized. The theme of all the activities was Press Freedom in India. Many media personals, PT students, PT education faculty members and other staff members actively participated on this occasion.

It’s time to celebrate the Press Freedom Day!

The top management of PT observed that providing complete freedom to the media is vital and also emphasised against imposing any sort of restrictions on it. We at PT feel that human rights and the guarantee of dignity of the human soul is linked directly with a responsible media that is fearless and free. Especially so in these turbulent times.

The activities of the occasion included speeches by leading members of media, group discussions, extempore, debate, skits, and press freedom related information.

Spellbound audiences at the seminars also realized the importance of what Aristotle remarked: “You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.” Courage is nothing but a developed will-power to pursue an aim with single-minded devotion. Developing your will power is directly related to your success in life. No one can over-estimate the power of your will to do.

The Press is considered to the Fourth estate of democracy. And on the vibrancy of Indian polity and press, PT education has decided to felicitate excellence in journalism and communication on Press Freedom Day from the next year onwards by setting up awards. All in all, it was a grand team effort by PT zens across India, and the media was delighted that such a positive initiative was taken.

Surely, Kar Ke Dikhayenge...
